We take a creator's most recent videos (up to 30), sum likes, comments, and shares per video, and divide by views: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. We also show the rate divided by followers, since brands use both. Everything is computed live from public TikTok data at the moment you search.
It depends on account size — smaller audiences engage proportionally more. Measured against followers, healthy ranges are roughly: under 10K followers, 5–12%; 10K–100K, 3.5–8%; 100K–1M, 2–5%; 1M–10M, 1.2–3.5%; and above 10M, 0.8–2.5%. Measured against views, anything above 5–6% is generally strong at any size.
Calculators disagree because they divide by different things (views vs. followers), sample different numbers of posts, and refresh at different times. We compute both variants from the creator's latest 30 posts and show the sample size, so you always know exactly what the number means.
